Alina Barua is an applied economist. She obtained MSc in Economics degree with Distinction from the University of Leicester, UK in 2014. Previously, she completed Master of Social Science (MSS) and Bachelor of Social Science (BSS) in Economics from the University of Chittagong. She has expertise in statistical data analysis using different statistical software like STATA, EViews and GRITAL.

She worked as a Program and Research Analyst at the Helen Keller International (HKI) Bangladesh from January 2019 to March 2021. During this period, she was involved in a number of key research projects including impact evaluation of the EFSN Project; STH control program; Suchana Round Monitoring Survey; NIPN; and RE-ARRANGE. Her research focuses on child development, women empowerment, nutrition and food security.
