Medical graduate (MBBS) with Masters in Public Health from USA & Diploma in Personnel Management from Dhaka University. Dr. Faisel has a 43+ years of diverse experience in reproductive & sexual health, SRHR rights, Women and maternal health, Essential Services Package delivery program, Family Planning and contraceptive use. This includes 29 years in strategic program planning, management, and policy making with much emphasis on gender and equity.

With his excellent leadership, he has been the President of the PHAB, and currently Member of the National Population Council headed by the Prime Minister and three national level technical committees constituted by MOHFW including the CSO Focal Person of FP2020 in Bangladesh since 2012. He has been inducted into the Technical Committee for developing the country commitments for FP 2030.

As the Country Representative of EngenderHealth Bangladesh for 23 years, he steered and managed multi-donor funded program in Bangladesh mostly on women empowerment & Gender, SRH including Family Planning, MCH and Essential Service Package including infectious diseases such as TB and COVID-19, and NCD.

He now works as a freelance Consultant in the area of sexual and reproductive health, reproductive rights, child marriage, women empowerment & Gender at Policy Development and strategic implementation levels. He also works since 2004 as an adjunct faculty of the Population Sciences Department of Dhaka University, in the MPH program of State University of Bangladesh (SUB) and Bangladesh University of Health Sciences. Since 28 March 2020 has been appointed as a Public Health Expert Advisor by MOHFW assigned to Sylhet Division on COVID-19.
